Welcome to
Drybrucke Rottweilers, a small hobby "kennel" in Medford
(Burlington County), New Jersey. The Rottweiler has been my
passion for the past 15 years. During this time I have come to
the opinion that the lack of a breed suitability test being followed
in this country and/or the failure of most American breeders to pay
attention to the temperment of the dogs they breed has resulted in a
Rottweiler contrary to that described in the breed standard.
Our standard calls for a "calm, confident and courageous dog
with a self-assurred aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate
and indiscriminate friendships. A Rottweiler is
self-confident...has an inherit desire to protect home and family,
and is an intelligent dog of extreme hardness and adaptability with a
strong willingness to work..." I believe that the ADRK
best takes steps to maintain the desired temperment of the Rottweiler
which is why you will find that all Drybrucke Rottweilers are either
Germany imports or direct decendants of ADRK registered dogs.
It is my goal to produce dogs that have the temperment described in
the breed standard while excelling in conformation.
